Prayer Meeting for Provision
July 27, 2007
A lovely friend of mine gave me a wonderful idea. She was wanting to stay connected to what we are studying and praying here at the Secret Place, even though she is living in Texas.
So, we are going to start posting the scriptures we have been praying through, the day after each of our corporate prayer meetings.
Last night, we had a prayer meeting for provision. I’m sure all of us have seasons when the circumstances look overwhelming. Bills don’t look like they are going to get paid, work schedules look impossible. We have been feeling these pressures strongly this month because of our move. Getting into new jobs, moving trucks, double bills, etc. But last night we chose not to succumb to the pressures of this world, or the systems of this world, or the fear of this world. We chose to bring our needs, our hearts and our focus to God, and place our trust in Him.
Here are some of the scriptures we were singing and praying through last night.
“Be still and rest in the Lord, wait for Him and patiently lean yourself upon Him.”
Psalm 37:7a
“And now Lord, what do I wait for and expect? My hope and expectation are in You.”
Psalm 39:7
“For God alone my soul waits in silence, from Him comes my salvation.”
Psalm 62:1
“The eyes of all wait for You (looking, watching, and expecting) and You give them their food in due season. You open your Hand and satisfy every living thing with favor.”
Psalm 145:15-16 AMP
“And therefore the Lord (earnestly) waits (expecting, looking and longing) to be gracious to you, and therefore He lifts Himself up, that He may have mercy on you and show loving kindness to you. For the Lord is a God of justice. Blessed (happy, fortunate, to be envied) are all those who earnestly wait for Him, who expect and look and long for Him (for His victory, His favor, His love, His peace, His joy, and His matchless unbroken companionship).”
Isaiah 30:18 AMP
“But those who wait for the Lord (who expect, look for and hope in Him) shall change and renew their strength and power, they shall lift their wings and mount up (close to God) as eagles (mount up to the sun) they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint or become tired.”
Isaiah 40:31 AMP
“(Do not) set your hopes on uncertain riches but on God who richly and ceaselessly provides us with everything for our enjoyment.”
1 Timothy 6:17b
“Those who know Your name will trust in You, for You Lord, have never forsaken those who seek You.”
Psalm 9:10
“Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from the will of your Father. And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid, you are worth more than many sparrows.”
Matthew 10:29-31
“As it is written: He has scattered abroad His gifts to the poor, His righteousness endures forever. Now he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of you righteousness. You will be made rich in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God.”
2 Corinthians 9:9-11
“Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us, to Him be glory in the Church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations for ever and ever Amen!!”
Ephesians 3:20
Many spontaneous songs came out of these verses last night, and we had a lovely treat of a vision and prophetic song from Jesus. I saw Him literally dancing over us as we were praying and singing. His face was lit up with joy. The song He sang over us was:
“I’m dancing in your deliverance
I delight in your freedom
Come here and see my beloved (He motioned for others in heaven to look)
They are finding freedom
They are finding eyes to see Me
They are finding freedom
They are finding eyes to see only Me.”
We were so blessed. It was a very powerful evening.
